Katy Perry is an American singer-songwriter who was born in a conservative family and grew in a world of restrictions. When she was in her teens Katy Perry began to pursue gospel music after singing at church during her youth. Perry loved all sorts of music even though her parents would not permit music, due to her always drawn to music. Perry was an outspoken woman who fought for her ambition to be the next big thing in music and pursued her dream. In the years before her first break, she faced many challenges and did not be able to make it big. Many of her songs got put aside before she was signed by the 'Capitol Records. The album she released as her second studio album 'One Of The Boys' was to be an enormous success, marking a turning point in her career. She was now professional and she hasn't looked back since. The album that followed, 'Teenage Dreams', was loved by music enthusiasts and is among the top-selling albums in history. It was the source of many records and established Katy Perry's status as an established musician. Alongside the recording and writing of songs, Perry is also known for her charitable work. Perry is an LGBT rights activist.
